I sing (or try to) and play the piano, guitar, penny whistle, and violin. I’ve been playing and writing music since I was young, but have just recently discovered the awesome-ness of Fruity Loops (the program used by some of my favorite music makers like M83) so my musical style and sound is now evolving. Hopefully it will keep getting better as I go, but I do take commissions so if you like what you hear and want me to write original music for your project, let me know! I love coming up with unique scores for people, and the experience stretches my imagination and skill every time. So don’t be afraid to ask! Below are some examples of different kinds of music I’ve done, newest first:
~ Official lyric video for our first song through our new music project Under The Dying Sun. It’s called Hymn of the Raven, and it was written by yours truly, with both Halloween and Louisiana in mind. Official music video filming in 2017.
~ A while back I made a book trailer for an author friend of mine Stephen Zimmer, and now that he’s trying to turn it into a TV series, I’ve extended the music I wrote for the trailer and made a complete song out of it. Loved writing this full length version of the song, which really brought me out of my shell musically and forced me to trust my instincts, and I can’t wait to do more with this project.
~ My husband made a cool time lapse of the night sky, and had me write music for it. The video is only a few seconds long, so what you hear in it is just an excerpt, but hopefully it gives you an idea of where I am now. Side note, this song is loosely based on a tune I used to play on the piano years ago.
~ Fellow author and survivor Amy McCorkle commissioned me to write an entire album of songs for her film Letters To Daniel (based on her book of the same name). This is the end credits song and a bit more upbeat than most of my music, but I loved doing it. Most of the lyrics are based on actual lines from the book. This song is now on Genius.Com too, along with annotations from yours truly. Check it out HERE. I really started discovering my own personal style while working on this project, and for that reason it will always be dear to me.
~ This was the first cover I tried to do. It’s a mash-up of songs from LOTR and The Hobbit, filmed by my talented husband Eric Jude. Hopefully we’ll be doing more covers soon. Be the first to know by subscribing to the channel, HERE. (I also edited this video)
~ We wrote, recorded, filmed and edited this in just over a week. It was our entry into a contest on Tentsquare.Com and we made it all the way to 2nd place. The audio is a bit off, but it’s one of our favorite things we’ve done so far. See more information on this project and the making of the video HERE. (I also edited this video)
~ This song was written years ago by my husband, and we re-worked it together a couple years back, for the music project we were doing at that time. I accompanied him with vocals and piano. Hopefully we’ll have some more polished stuff in the future, but this gives you an idea of our vibe at least.
Much more to come 😉
